Currently, the Federal SSCs are ready to start transitioning agencies and departments to consolidated Financial Management Systems; the solicitation for the commercial shared service providers is anticipated to be released during FY 2008. If the transition to the Shared Service Model accelerates (as intended) the nature and volume of the financial management opportunities will shift dramatically.

Vendors prepared to meet the changed climate in this sector will share $1.9B in available future opportunities. In addition, vendors should be prepared to monitor the resistance of Cabinet level leadership as there is approximately $1.75B in Financial Management DME funding over the next few years at stake, according to OMB’s Exhibit 300.
